Privacy Policy

Campus Connect ("we", "us") is a mentorship and peer-learning platform available at iimvcampusconnect.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

• Account details: your name, email address and profile photo when you sign up with email or Google.
• Profile information: role (student, mentor or both), bio, skills, city, services and prices you choose to add.
• Activity: help requests, replies, session chats, bookings, availability, ratings and reports you create.
• Technical data: basic usage and device information used to keep the service secure and working. You can opt out of analytics in Settings.

2. Google user data and API access

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture to create and identify your Campus Connect account.

If you are a mentor and choose to connect Google Calendar, Campus Connect requests permission to view and edit events on your calendars. We use this permission only to create a calendar event and Google Meet link for a session booked through Campus Connect, retrieve the resulting meeting link, and update or cancel that event when the session changes.

The session information sent to Google may include the session title, description, start and end time, participant email addresses and a request to create a Google Meet conference. We store the Google Calendar event identifier and the resulting Google Meet link so authorized session participants can view and join their meeting.

Campus Connect does not download or analyse your calendar, access unrelated calendar events, capture or read Google Meet audio or video, access meeting recordings or transcripts, or read information about Google Meet conferences that were not created for a Campus Connect session. The app does not need full-calendar, calendar read-only, Meet space read-only or Meet conference-media permissions for its current features.

Google data is used only to provide scheduling and meeting features requested by the mentor. It is not used for advertising, sold to third parties or used to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine-learning models. We disclose it only to the authorized participants of the relevant session, service providers acting on our behalf, or when required by law.

Campus Connect's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Calendar connection credentials are stored encrypted and are accessible only to the account owner through protected server-side processes.

You can revoke Campus Connect's Google access at any time from your Campus Connect settings or your Google Account permissions. After disconnection, we stop making new Google API requests. You may also request deletion of stored Google connection data, event identifiers and meeting links by contacting us at support@iimvcampusconnect.com.

3. How we use information

• To run your account, show your profile and match students with mentors.
• To schedule sessions, create meeting links and send booking confirmations and reminders.
• To moderate content, prevent abuse and keep the platform safe.
• To improve the service using aggregated, non-identifying statistics.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

• With other members as needed for the platform to work (for example, your public profile, or session details shared with the other participants of a booking).
• With service providers who host our app, store data and deliver email, under confidentiality obligations.
• When required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

5. Your privacy controls

You control who sees your profile and threads (public, connections only or private). Session chats, agendas and meeting links are visible only to session participants. Profile photos are shown only on visible public profiles.

6. Data retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us; we will delete it within 30 days, except where we must retain records by law.

7. Security

We use encryption in transit, encrypted storage for sensitive credentials and access controls that limit each record to the people allowed to see it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.

8. Children

Campus Connect is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed at children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy and will revise the date above. Significant changes will be communicated in the app or by email.
